Default Problem fitting new Zenoah G270rRC into 5B RTR

I installed a new Zenoah G270rc engine into my Baja 5B RTR last night to discover that the standard aluminum collar\spacer that goes between the engine mounting point below the clutch to the buggy frame was too large resulting in a misalignment with the side engine braces. I temporarily remedied this by using the collar\spacer from the left side engine mount leaving me no collar for this side.

Is this a standard problem with installing the Zenoah G270 onto a 5B RTR?
Does anyone have any advise re this?
Is there a modified spacer that I need to purchase for this install?

Cheers, Simbaja

Haven't heard of this before. Are you sure there is not another interference somewhere? You can always use washers to build up a spacer. Make sure your crankshaft is perfectly horizontal. If the motor is stilted, you could end up with drivetrain problems.

This is a standard problem with running a Zen in the Baja. The Baja is made to run a CY engine, so either you need to get a rear clutch housing from a CY engine and put it on your Zen, or get the Turtle clutch housing and put it on the Zen.

Thanks for all replies,

I ended up installing my CY clutch housing and all is sorted.
Ran the new engine today and it was sweet, especially after running an old 23 Fuelie.

Cheers, SIMBAJA

cheapest solution is to install the CY housing on teh Zen motor. issue solved.

if you cant do that, a 7/16 sea nut (non nylock) will make a PERFECT spacer.
