I bought the ATX skid plate for my Baja and it is already broken and I have only used it 4 times. I have emailed TNG to asked them to ask ATX to make it out of polycarbonate. The polycarbonate that I know, the same polycarbonate that my unbreakable ruler was made out of that I had at school. I used to bend that in half and it never broke and could take impacts. The ATX skid plate cannot take rock impacts, it just breaks and cracks because it is not soft enough and is too brittle. I would like to see you bend it and if you did you would snap it because its more like glass. The product itself, I think is fantastic but the material used is not fit for the purpose that it is supposed to be used for. If it was made out of a better material, such as the stuff my unbreakable ruler was made out of, or kevlar/carbon fibre it would be the best skid plate ever. If they don’t start making them in kevlar/carbon fibre or what I call polycarbonate and give me some money off for suggesting it then I will start to make them and undercut the whole world. So ATX pull your fingers out… Great idea/consept rubbish material. Actually its not that good on carbon fibre chassis as I don’t like to tap in to my chassis, I would rather bolt it to it and the holes are in the wrong places. Apart from making it out of a material more akin to glass you also need to give people the option to drill the holes that they want in the places that they want them. Instead of being dictated by pre-drilled holes in the plate. I’m being honest, I want one in kevlar/carbon fibre or what I call polycarbonate with no holes in it. Thats all I want.
